We depart on the Stuart Highway and head towards Litchfield National Park via Batchelor and into Litchfield National Park.

We visit the magnetic termite mounds all standing grand and facing east / west. Next stop is Florence Falls standing at 64 metres. A walk to the base of the falls earns you a well deserved swim!

Wangi Falls is our next beautiful spot, with a short walk to the swimming hole with the rocks and amazing cascading waterfalls.

After exploring this magnificent park, we head to Kakadu National Park on the Arnhem Highway. We cross two major rivers systems of the area; South Alligator River & Mary River along with the township of Jabiru.

We have a two night stop in the National Park, close to a billabong with an abundance of birdlife.

A visit to Cahill’s Crossing is the border of Arnhem Land a great place to spot for a croc!

Other places of interest during the day will include Ubirr, Noulangie Art Site and Warradjan Cultural Centre.

Finishing our day with a relaxing wildlife sunset cruise on Yellow Water Billabong, we return to our accommodation for a meal using local produce.

Departing Kakadu National Park, we take the Kakadu Highway to Pine Creek; known for its historic gold mining.

We make a stop at Leliyn (Edith Falls) in Nitmiluk National Park for a walk, refreshing swim and admiring the beauty of the waterfall.

We head deeper into the National Park for an informative cruise on Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) before settling into our town accommodation for the evening.

We farewell the Northern Territory, adjust our clocks and welcome Western Australia.

Passing through cattle country, Victoria River, Timber Creek and Kununurra, we make our to the Eastern end of the Gibb River Road and settle into Emma Gorge, part of El Questro Station, nestled within the Cockburn Ranges.

A relaxing soak in the thermal waters of Zebedee Springs is a must of any visit to El Questro so after breakfast we make our way here.

We visit the main hub of El Questro ‘The Station’ to view the township in its glory.

This afternoon we make our way to Kununurra; the largest town in the East Kimberley. Here we visit Ivanhoe Crossing and the Diversion Dam of the Ord River.

We have a three night stay in Kununurra.

Enjoy some free time in town, before taking a scenic boat cruise on the Ord River and viewing Lake Argyle. This ecosystem is home to an abundance of bird life with over 300 species in the Kimberley. You will also spot freshwater crocodiles. We will learn about the history and making of Ord River Irrigation system.

We stop at the Durack Homestead to learn about the history of the family before returning to Kununurra.

Today you may choose to spend a slower day in Kununurra before the final leg of the journey or you may choose to join a Mitchell Falls Explorer with Shoal Air.

This incredible day trip sees you take a scenic flight to Mitchell Plateau before taking a 4WD to the airstrip where you will chopper into the falls before hiking out and flying home. This is at your own expense with approximate pricing $1600 per person.

Alternatively, we can spend the day with various activities in and around Kununurra, including Ivanhoe Crossing and the Diversion Dam of the Ord River and some free time in town.  We will take a short drive to Wyndham with the Five Rivers Lookout and panoramic views of the Cambridge Gulf.

Departing Kununurra we make our way to Purnululu National Park. We pass by the indigenous communities of Doon Doon and Warmun and the Carr Boyd Ranges.

Venturing back onto the dirt tracks, we take the windy road over the Osmond Range into the World Heritage Area (Purnululu National Park).

We have our scenic helicopter flights over the Bungles Bungles, a highlight for many travellers. Please note this flight is an optional extra on 2026 departures. This is included in 2027 in the tour.

We enjoy our night under the stars and with a campfire in the park.

Today is spending the majority of our day exploring Purnululu National Park.

We walk into Cathedral Gorge and Piccaninny Creek to view the magnificent striped bee hive domes.

Following the Bungles Massif we head to the northern end of the park to walk and explore Echidna Chasm. This narrow path has walls as close as 1m wide and the sandstone gorge towers as much as 200m above.

Our Bungles adventure comes to an end as we venture out the park and into Halls Creek for the night.

Halls Creek is known as a former Gold Rush Town. We look at the town before driving through cattle country towards Fitzroy Crossing.

We are on the end of the Napier Range where we take an Indigenous Guided Tour of Mimbi Caves. Here we learn about the culture, the history and spectacular geology of the limestone formations.

Tonight we stay on the banks of Martuwarra (Fitzroy River).

We make our way onto the dirt roads, with our first stop at Dimalurru (Tunnel Creek) that has been carved through the limestone of the Napier Range.

We take a walk through the large tunnel and following the creek whilst learning about the deep tragic story of Jandamarra, a Bunuba man who fought a 3 year long resistance against European colonisers.

Our next adventure is taking a walk through Bandilngan (Windjana Gorge) along the banks of the Lennard River, spotting flora and fauna along the way. Keep an eye out for freshwater crocodiles.

Continuing along the western part of the Gibb River Road through Wunaamin Miliwundi Conservation Park, we settle into our wildnerness lodge for our two night stay.

Today is a day of exploring Dalmanyi (Bell Gorge) in the Wunaamin Miliwundi Conservation Park. We take the opportunity to walk and swim in this magical Kimberley gorge and admire the beauty.

We return back to our accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Today we depart the Conservation Park and back track a little along the Gibb River Road West, to the town of Derby.

We visit the town and surrounds, including the Prison Boab Tree and the historical jetty before making our adventure starts to Talbot Bay for an overnight stay at the Horizontal Waterfalls.

The seaplane flight departs from Derby Airport to Talbot Bay. This afternoons activities include a boat ride through the Horizontal Falls and up the surrounding creeks, having swim, learning about the area, shark feeding or just sit back and relax watching the sunset.

An early start to view the sunrise across Talbot Bay. You return to Derby with a scenic flight over the Buccaneer Archipelago.

We take the highway towards Broome, and then head north to the Dampier Peninsula, stopping to learn the indigenous culture and history of the communities. We stop at Lombadina for a guided cultural tour, giving us a unique opportunity to experience the local and traditional ways of life of the community and their salt water heritage.

Cygnet Bay is our overnight stop, where we will also enjoy a guided pearl farm tour and dinner overlooking the bay.

This morning we have a relaxing start before making our way back down the Dampier Peninsula and into Broome.

We explore Broome and all its beauty before checking into our accommodation for our final night. We enjoy a farewell dinner whilst chatting about the memories of this great adventure together.
